For one year - I pledge to blog as much as I can - sharing thoughts, links, music, photos, and videos. Enjoy...
WMSE - 91.7 - Milwaukee!
I use the above picture as a touchstone to the past.  The ‘guitar smashing’ T-shirt I am wearing is actually my 2nd of that vintage - acquired after donating some money to the radio station.
I was a DJ at WMSE for 3 years - starting in my sophomore year in the mid/late 80s.  I had just moved to the 11th of RWJ and found a couple of willing co-DJs on the floor (Dan and Tim).  In later years, I was also accompanied by Jeff, Greg, and Tim H.  And once, even Professor Kleppin stopped by - but we weren’t allowed (by him) to announce on the radio that he was in the station.
My first year, I played a lot of music recommended to me by my friend John (who was training to be a professional DJ at the time - not a volunteer like me).  I also played the below song as it was requested A LOT - and to be honest - it really hooked me as well.  Any time I hear this song, I am immediately transported back to that radio station and that time in my life.

I wish I had more photos of the radio station - and us trying to put on a show - but it didn’t seem important at the time.  And there were no cellphone cameras back then (let alone cellphones - haHA).
So - here is me in a more contemporary time, visiting my friend Robert out in Palm Springs in 2009 - sporting my WMSE T-shirt.

Perhaps in some later posts, I’ll share some short clips from the show - once I find some tapes, dig up a tape player, and digitize them.
